Muchova overcomes Gauff in intense semi-final

Muchova then earned a match point, which Gauff saved with a passing forehand winner. Muchova subsequently won the next two points through aggressive play, reaching her second Grand Slam final.

The subsequent games were held without significant drama, leading to the final set tie-break, where both players showcased exceptional tennis with long rallies and brilliant shot-making.
Noskova secures her first Grand Slam final appearance
In the second semi-final, Linda Noskova defeated Marta Kostyuk, ensuring an all-Czech final, the first in a Grand Slam since the 1989 Australian Open men’s final. Noskova secured her win in straight sets. This marks Noskova’s first appearance in a major final, and she will face Muchova on Saturday.
Noskova expressed her shock and joy at reaching the final, stating that she focused on her own game and patience. She recalled watching Petra Kvitova win at Wimbledon as a child. Noskova, who was once the youngest player in the top 100, is now fulfilling her potential, with this final marking a significant milestone in her career. Muchova, at 29, and Noskova, at 21, will both be aiming for their first Grand Slam title.
Kostyuk, who was making her second Grand Slam semi-final appearance in a month, struggled to gain momentum in her match against Noskova. Despite a strong summer season, winning 21 of her last 23 matches, she was unable to overcome Noskova’s consistent play. Noskova had been in strong form leading up to Wimbledon, having won more singles matches on grass than any other player on tour in the past two years.
Noskova broke Kostyuk’s serve early in the first set and maintained her lead. In the second set, Noskova again broke early to go 3-1 up, but Kostyuk broke back. However, Noskova secured another break in the tenth game of the second set to seal her victory and her spot in the final. The Wimbledon women’s singles final is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
